Yeah thats an interesting one aye. I have heard stories too but it seems to be those who have tried to play the system, like buy links, overload with keywords etc.. Google doesn't like getting tricked any more than the rest of us!

In saying that, where is the line, because we all seed our stuff with the keywords we are targeting.. could be worth checking out.

As for the cats.. been avoiding them recently, but who knows... haha

Hey Tim,

Glad to see you back!
I have done a lot of research too since we last talked and it was so funny because I was going to comment on one of your older posts the other day until I realized that I had already left a comment months ago. lol

Blogging is such a rewarding experience and it is great way to learn new things. Yet, I realize that many people are really trying to make money from ads and affiliate marketing. Therefore it seems that many bloggers have become obsessed with page rank. I have heard horror stories about how rankings from Google, Alexa and Technorati have gone south without warning. Now that Technorati is no longer the authority (by choice it seems) on blog page rank, I am wondering if you have any insights you would like to share on the topic.

Congratulations on all of your recent acheivements.
PS: how are your cats doing? (inside joke)

Thanks for the post Tim.

Think of it like this, if you currently have a response rate of 2%, then you are more "forward" with your marketing (in your case using the word "divorce") and you get a response rate of 4% thats good, even if now 96% are pissed off. The 96% weren't your target market anyway.

As long as what you are marketing resonates within your potential customers, it's good, even if it turns others away.

Personally I would be in the other 96% on this one ;) but thats fine, you aren't promoting it to someone who doesn't want a divorce.

i have a question: My mother and a friend started a business called SmartDivorce. www.smartdivorce.us. It would a lot easier for you to go to the site and see what it's about then for me to explain it.

My question is: we want to do webinars. However, the word "divorce" seems to raise a lot of flags. The whole purpose of the seminars is not to promote divorce or to even discourage it. It is strictly to help people who can't afford to spend a lot of money on lawyers and therapists. It gives them the basic info they need to then make the right decision for themselves. I want to help her get the word out but I need to let people know again we are not promoting getting a divorce. WE are neutral on the subject.

Thanks
