I love using this feature on my blog. Since I go to school and have homework, it makes it easy to write on the weekends. Also I have a site of the day on my site, I cannot be posting every day.

By execute do you mean publish? You set the date and time in the publish menu. The plugin just helps you to see when you have posts scheduled. Makes it much easier than checking your posts list. I hope this answers your question.
